Father Christmas

Known by a variety of names around the world, Father Christmas was actually a historical figure. Bishop of Myra, St. Nicholas was known for his compassion, generosity, fervor in his passion for his church and his love of children. He was often seen bearing gifts and seeking to right all wrongs. He is the patron saint of children, travelers, seafarers and the poor. The legends of his benevolence have lived on since the 4th century. Children of all ages love Father Christmas as much today as when he served his congregation long ago.
